Lately, postings have been light since seminary, Hebrew, and a newfound fascination with Russian literature have taken up most of my time.  Nonetheless, here are a few updates:

First, I recently wrote a small article in Reformed Worship about one of several formative experiences I had when I traveled to southeast Asia last summer.  It’s now online and accessible for all my readers (both of you).

Second, in the interest of making my time online more productive (you know how it is: one click leads to another, and pretty soon you’re reading the wikipedia entry on 1980s fashion, and then forming ardent opinions of your own on the talk page), I’ve added a What I’m Reading page to this website.  This isn’t a catalogue of the books I’m reading or have read, since that probably wouldn’t be all that interesting (Another book about Hebrew syntax?!).  Instead, this page contains links to interesting or thought-provoking articles that I find in my spare time.  I give myself half an hour every morning to find these articles, and once I do, I go offline for the day.  And who knows.  Maybe there’ll be something on there about 1980s fashion.

Third, my life drastically improved for the better when, on Monday, I re-discovered RSS feeds in general and Google Reader in particular.  Re-discovered, because, a year ago I discovered Google Reader for the first time, subscribed to a few blogs and a couple newspapers, and then promptly forgot all about it.  Until earlier this week, when I re-opened my Reader and had to delete a few thousand articles and blog posts.  If you’re not absent-minded like I am, you might also benefit from this useful tool.

Fourth, I spent this past weekend CICWing with Paul and Betty in Lynden, Sunnyside, and Vancouver.  You’ll probably see something about that on the CICW blog in the next few days.  And this coming weekend, I’ll be at a this conference in Austin, where panelists will discuss possible answers to (and verbs for) the question, “a post-evangelical church for a post-christian world?”, all while trying to say something nice about Mark Driscoll.
